North Laurel Recreation and Aquatic Center.

Howard County obtained a 50-acre parcel of land between a commercial strip and a dense residential development. The parcel is heavily wooded and includes a significant stream; because of this, only a third of the land was developed. Working with community groups, RRMM helped to develop a master plan for acreage, which included a recreation center. Our team went on to design the 60,000 SF center which includes a gym, senior center, senior daycare, childcare center, activity rooms, health clinic, ballfields, tennis courts, basketball courts, a picnic pavilion, playground, and a skate park.
RRMM was also selected to complete the master plan and design for a 22,100 SF indoor aquatic center addition. Our team programmed and prepared design options that were presented to both the Department of Recreation and residents.
